Quon Bruce Christensen Law Firm bribes HOA voters to secure construction defect cases

In a recent news story that has garnered coverage nationwide; two high-ranking officials within Quon Bruce Christensen Law Firm have been charged with conspiracy to commit fraud.

Following an expansive FBI investigation, Nancy Quon and Bruce Christensen are believed to have bribed Home Owner Association (HOA) voters in order to have extremely valuable construction cases directed to their law firm. In total, the cases were worth tens of millions of dollars in the scheme that included numerous accessories to the crime.

Not only did Quon and Christensen pay for votes, they also worked to ensure that the people appointed to the board that were tasked with voting were strategically placed to be in their favor.

Bloomberg Business Week published a full story including vivid details of the case and how it is rocking the city of Las Vegas. Lasting effects of the fraud include a major impact upon Nevada’s construction defect litigation industry.

U.S. District Judge James Mahan described the scope of the scheme which relied on rigged elections and straw buyers to gain control of HOAs, as “mind boggling”.

When it comes to the outcome for those charged with fraud, Quon was found dead after an apparent suicide and Christensen fled to Orlando, with the public belief being that he did so as part of a plea agreement that would keep him from having to plead guilty.
